Street Outreach and Resource Connection
Monthly outreach in high-need areas toprovide immediate access to recoveryresources, distribute hygiene and care kits, and connect people to mental health
Mental Health & Substance Use Education Workshops
Provide workshops that educate participants on mental health and substance use, with an emphasis on culturally relevant approaches.
Peer-to-Peer Recovery Mentorship
Establish a mentorship program connecting participants with peer mentors who have successfully navigated the recovery process.
Recovery Journey Talks in Local Jails
Partner with local correctional facilities to host “Recovery Journey” talks for incarcerated individuals, led by speakers with lived experience.
Youth Empowerment and revention Services
Prevention-focused workshops for young people to build resilience, understand mental health, and avoid substance use, using culturally relevant approaches.
Family and Community Engagement Program
Involve families and the larger community in the recovery process by offering support and education. This program will host family support groups, training on addiction recovery.

Who we are?
Empower Community Initiative is, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and Recovery Community Organization (RCO), is dedicated to providing culturally responsive services that restore hope and empower individuals navigating recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Serving the South Minneapolis community and neighboring communities, we emphasize a peer-led, peer-driven approach,
supporting everyone through their unique journey—one step, one day, one life at a time.
