Empower Community Initiative Telephone Recovery Support Program

Our Telephone Recovery Support is a free, confidential service designed to provide encouragement and connection to individuals in recovery.

Availability:
Calls are made by trained staff and volunteers with at least six months of recovery experience, either as a person in recovery or as a recovery ally. All calls are conducted Monday through Friday, between 9 AM and 6 PM.

Contact Options: Support is provided over the phone. For in-person peer support or resource navigation, please contact ECI at 612-584-4158 or info@empowercommunityinitiative.org and request a Recovery Navigator.

How It Works:
–  Volunteers complete a 6-hour recovery support training before engaging with participants.
–  Weekly calls offer encouragement and connection to help you on your recovery journey.
–  You can stop receiving calls at any time by informing us.
–  If there is no contact for three consecutive months, calls will be paused. However, you can re-enroll anytime to resume support.

Enrollment Process:
1. Complete the Telephone Recovery Support Sign-Up Form online.
2. If you currently do not have access to a phone, please indicate on the form when you’ll be available to receive calls.
3. After submitting the form, a staff member or volunteer will contact you to complete a 10-minute intake process.
4. We will make up to three attempts (one call per week) to connect with you for intake.
5. Once the intake is completed, weekly peer support calls will begin the following week.
